Cosec is the division of Cotecna responsible for the development and implementation of Supply Chain Security services. COSEC has extensive hands-on experience in trade security and visibility services of containers in transit, from the point of origin and at the different nodes of the supply chain.
Cosec experience in trade security is wide-ranging and covers:
- Acting as independent third party trusted agent in seven out of 18 secure trade lanes between major ports around the world and three main container load centers in the US under the 2004-2005 Operation Safe Commerce (OSC) programme funded by the US Department of Homeland Security.
- Development and implementation of a comprehensive Port Security service called TRACERS™ designed to secure the transit of containerized cargo. TRACERS™ is a CSI-like (Container Security Initiative) system that provides the high level of container security and data required by stakeholders.
- Experience in using and integrating security-related technologies such as container X-ray and gamma ray scanners, radiation and explosive detectors, smart electronic seals, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions, Computerized Risk Management Systems (CRMS), portable data terminals and high security IT systems.
C-TPAT pilot program for supply chain security validations in China (click here for more detail)
Cotecna has been selected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) to participate in a one-year pilot program to conduct supply chain security validations in China. The pilot program officially began on July 1, 2007.
